What is a Thinking Partnership?

A Thinking Partnership is a powerful individual development tool. In disciplined, boundaried Thinking Sessions Thinking Partners give each other equal time, attention and expertise to think through any issue of their choice and to free their thinking and their lives of limiting assumptions.

Thinking Sessions are one dependable way to stay true to your values and dreams, to reduce stress, to face issues, to set goals, to take stock of successes and to replenish your life and work with time, energy and ease.

Whats the aim of the programme?

  •

The course teaches you how to become a Thinking Partner, how to do Thinking Sessions and how to apply the principles of a Thinking Environment to groups, teams and organisations.

Who is the programme suitable for?

  • It is especially helpful for managers who want to become coaches or mentors and anyone who wants to create and maintain an environment for continuous learning and personal leadership.

How is the programme structured and what will I learn?

We begin with exploring the 10 components of a Thinking Environment, suggesting that:

-          Applying any one of them will significantly enhance the quality of any interaction or

       discussion.

 -     Application of all ten as a system has a profound and catalytic effect on the thinking

       of individuals and groups.

You will then be introduced to the theory, principles and Six-part format of The Thinking Session. You will develop your knowledge through observation and practice i.e. taking part in demonstrations both as the Thinker and the Thinking Partner. This work will be done in pairs and in the larger group. You are encouraged to think for yourself about real issues in your work or personal life.

You will learn about three kinds of Limiting Assumptions - True, Possibly True and Untrue Assumptions.

You will also learn about the two kinds of Bedrock Assumptions: Subjective Perceptions of Self and Subjective Perceptions of How Life Works.

Through real Thinking Sessions you will learn that accurately formulated Incisive Questions can remove Untrue Limiting Assumptions so that you can think with clarity and confidence.

A fourth day (optional) can be arranged to explore other applications of the Thinking Environment Principles e.g. to team meetings, difficult decisions, creative thinking, supervision, performance review, peer mentoring and coaching, group presentations, planning and diversity.

How is the programme taught?

  •

The programme is taught in a Thinking Environment, requiring respect, personal integrity and rigorous confidentiality.
  •

The programme is highly participative and experiential. You will be given the opportunity to think in front of the group and practice being the Thinking Partner, via coached demonstrations.
  •  You will be in a safe place to think for yourself, to go to the edge of your thinking without being interrupted or judged.

What investment is required?

  •

1125.00 per person plus VAT. This is an all inclusive price* which extends to FREE telephone coaching to support your learning over the 3 day programme.
    [*Accommodation is not included].

What can I expect back from investing in this programme?

  •

Using your new thinking skills and knowledge can transform the way you think about yourself, your work, your colleagues, your family, your future - your life.
  •

You can use  the Six-part Thinking Session with another Thinking Partner anytime, to think through any issue in your life. It will become a tool for life.
