Richard Jackson
Senior Partner
Mancroft Training

Associate Presenter for a personal development seminar

Hazel has been a presenter for Mancroft Training’s Winning Edge course for some time now and I have seldom met someone with as much commitment and passion.

In my experience, no other freelance presenter has put more time and dedication into learning the Winning Edge programme. She has a great desire to present what are very challenging concepts, ideas and methodologies in a way that the participants can assimilate and implement them in order to enrich both their lives in and out of work.  This is directly reflected on the bottom lines of our clients.

The feedback we get from our corporate clients is extraordinarily positive and they tell us that she has an identifiably positive effect on the way the learners think and therefore, the organisational culture.

I cannot recommend Hazel too highly, not only is she a great presenter but she is also a delight to work with.

Leadership Development Programme

Hazel has been delivering bespoke Leadership training for Electrolux Major Appliances UK since 2003. The course, run several times a year, has been successfully adapted to suit the Electrolux UK culture and requirements. As the course leader Hazel, though an external provider, is required to be ambassador for Electrolux to the delegates.

The Leadership course feedback consistently rates both material and presentation close to 100%. She knows her subject, understands the needs of the delegates and represents Electrolux extremely well. Most delegates mention the infectious enthusiasm displayed by Hazel and how much they enjoyed, as well as benefited from, the course. I have found Hazel very professional, a pleasure to work with and am consistently delighted with the outcomes of the courses

NLP & Thinking Styles workshop for Business Development Managers (BDMs)
in Association with The Best Organisation Ltd.

I feel compelled to let you know how delighted I am with results and outcome of our NLP training. It was a difficult concept for the teams to grasp but the expert advice and encouragement they received from Di and Hazel made it possible for them to take the learning on board and demonstrate their understanding in our practice sessions on Wednesday. We continued with some practice on Thursday and the delivery was even further improved.

I'm certain our investment in this training will put our BDM's way ahead of our competitors and will enable them to offer our customers some real solutions to the current "entry price /low value/ low profitability" issues they are currently facing while improving the consumers in-store experience.

The Thinking Partnership Programme

I need "time to think" is something lots of us say but rarely make time to do. This process not only creates the time but provides the environment which leaves people free to let their thinking flow. I was amazed at the difference in my thinking when I am genuinely listened to without sensing that the listener wanted to add their views or that they were bored. What I learnt is how often I interfere with my own ability to think because of the assumptions I make about myself and others. I was also uncomfortable when I realised how often I want to tell someone what I think about the subject they need to think about, rather than encouraging them to think for themselves.

Hazel Morley was my teacher and coach whilst I learnt the process. She has an amazing talent for listening and creating thinking space. I was also very impressed at how she could be my thinking partner and also be able to step out and coach me without interupting the flow of the thinking session.

This process is extremely valuable on a one to one basis or within a group. It enables people to access their thinking in a highly effective and productive way whether the issue is business, relationships or life in general.

Coaching in a Thinking Environment

Following many many years of ‘working on myself’, I really wondered if there was anything out there that could help me have a different opinion of myself. I still had low self esteem and had also struggled with clinical depression for a number of years. While the depression had cleared, I still seemed to be in this constant battle with myself that I was never ‘good enough’ and that I would spend the rest of my life striving for a level of perfection that was unattainable. I seemed to set my standards so high, that every time I did something, I always was left feeling that I’d failed in someway. Was this all life could offer me?

Accessing one to one coaching with Hazel has been a big turning point in my life. In a very short space of time (just a few months), I have been able to ‘think about how I was thinking’ about myself with Hazel’s help. She has helped me to challenge long standing assumptions I have about myself, some which were so ingrained, I truly believed them.
But now, instead of expecting everything to go wrong and just waiting to proved right, I now have a much healthier way of thinking – that I still expect things to go wrong sometimes, but that I expect to cope – a totally different mindset.

Now that I am more in control of my thinking, I find that I perform better in work and I am much more content within myself as a result. Being able to say and also believe that I actually do quite like myself was a big psychological hurdle to overcome.

This meant that my work with Hazel has been very challenging at times, and I’ve been tested in a way that I’ve never experienced before. But the work has also been fun, with many laughs and lighter moments too! I know I’m the only one that can maintain this new way of thinking and behaving, Hazel can’t do this for me. But I know I can continue to move forward in my life and I know that Hazel will be there walking those steps with me.

Coaching for Career Development

We have been working with Hazel Morley over the last year or so and have often accessed her for one to one coaching with doctors. Hazel has taken a pivotal role in supporting these doctors - often, when they access the deanery for support, they are in ‘career crisis’. Some just don’t know which way to turn and some even think about leaving the profession altogether.

We have received many personal accounts from doctors who have worked with Hazel in this way – some of whom said that without this kind of support, they would have left their jobs - a huge saving to the NHS! 100% of these doctors have valued her commitment and her skills in helping them to move forward in their lives. While the ‘real’ work needs to come from the doctor, Hazel has helped to work on the issues affecting their personal and professional lives in a highly confidential and supportive environment.

We continue to access Hazel’s unique skills as our Guidance and Support Service expands to meet the ever increasing demands of doctors’ careers. We have every confidence that when we refer to Hazel, we receive a quality service from someone who has complete commitment and professionalism in her work.

Feedback from 'The Winning Edge' - presented by Associate Hazel Morley.
May - December 2005

  • I have not looked back since being introduced to 'The Winning Edge' two weeks ago. It has been a life changing experience for me and has, absolutely, made me re-frame my way of thinking!!
  • Hazel delivered excellent content with passion and clarity.
  • Hazel had a very relaxed style and gave plenty of real life examples to enhance the content, she also brought in individuals who might have been sitting back a bit.
  • Hazel's facilitation skills were superb. Certainly got a lot to think about!
  • Hazel was very professional and had a good knowledge and understanding of her mission. When people were a little confused and challenged her on what they thought they were hearing, she was able to listen to what they said and she was able to work out where and how they had misunderstood and was able to feedback in a respectable manner.
  • Great dynamic ability to deal with 'tricky' questions and increase my/our understanding.
  • Hazel was fantastic and a really good course leader - I really do feel motivated and have some renewed energy.
  • The content was amazing...made me question the way I think about things.
  • Really enjoyed the course...didn't come away with just a couple of "catch phrases" but some real tools to form the basis of future thinking.
